When music stars are to perform in the dr concert hall, they are given a guest suite in bright nordic style, where they are able to relax, surrounded by both classical and new danish design.

The Client Brief

The soloist’s lounges – where performers are able to relax in pleasant and calming surroundings – needed freshening up. They have to accomodate both dressing room functions and more hotel room like qualities, and must appeal equally pleasant to both rock stars and opera divas. They are to feel privacy and at home, while still feeling the presence of the beautiful, modern Jean Nouvel concert building.

Our solution

The five soloist’s lounges are all designed using the same colour palette, but we made five different interpreta- tions of the theme, so they appear quite unique.
We used exclusively Danish design: furniture, lighting and textiles. The blond wood interior is emphasized with the use of quite saturated colours, and all items have a multifunctional quality, that makes the lounge equally suited for a relaxing nap, and for socializing with guests or fellow musicians.
